E-backpack Newsletter

Dear St. Edward School Families,

This is a very busy e-backpack!  Click here for a letter from Phyllis Cavallone, Chief of Academics for the AoC, about Aspire testing and results looking at school wide scores over the last three years.  I am proud to note that St. Edward students are ready or exceeding in ALL subject areas at ALL levels!

I would like to thank the preschool parents in the part time programs for their patience and understanding as we search for a new preschool teacher.  As the search continues, Mrs. Smith, who has been subbing, and Ms. Danielle will continue to provide a safe, welcoming educational environment for some of our youngest students.  I have reached out to colleges and universities in Chicago and the suburbs to locate potential candidates for the position.  I am also working with two teacher placement services and online candidate recruitment websites.  I know that we will find the right teacher for the preschool.  If you know of anyone who holds an IL teaching license and would be interested, please have them forward a cover letter and resume to me at slasica@stedwardschool.com.  My door is always open if you have any questions.

As part of a school-wide goal to increase a STEM presence in the classrooms and in the school as a whole, we are introducing a new after school program presented by Snapology, which will focus on STEM topics for kindergarten through 5th grade.  The program will take place Tuesdays from 3-4 PM starting October 2.  Sign up on or before September 25, 2018 to save $20!

A Catholic School does not run effectively without its volunteers!  If you were previously a volunteer and completed the compliance training, please fill out the CANTS form (required yearly) and return it to the school office as soon as possible.  If you have not previously completed compliance training, please email me for requirements.

Please contact the office with any questions.
Let’s have the faith to move mountains this year!  St. Edward, pray for us!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sara Lasica, Principal
