PARISH NEWS:

From the desk of Father Mike, “You may remember that I was planning to retire last year, but at the last minute I was asked to remain one more year. I am planning to retire at the end of June this year. Last week the Archdiocesan Priests’ Placement Board met to discuss the assignment of pastors for a number of parishes and to make their recommendations to the Cardinal. The assignments will begin July 1st. I was notified that the Cardinal has appointed Father Ken Anderson to be the next pastor of St. Edward Parish. Currently he is pastor of Immaculate Conception in Highland Park. His name may sound somewhat familiar. He was the same priest recommended to be our pastor last year. The priest who was to replace him had a heart attack and Fr. Anderson was asked to remain at the Highland Park parish and I was asked to serve one more year here at St. Edward. Over the next couple of months Father Anderson, like me, will be preparing to leave his parish, and we look forward to welcoming him on July 1st.”
