Greetings from room 2!
The first few months have been very busy and productive. It is hard to believe that the first trimester of the school year is over! The first graders enjoyed participating in our annual Chalk Walk, even though rain prevented us from doing our one mile walk through the neighborhood. We enjoyed the magic show and danced to the lively music of the DJ until we were exhausted! We visited the Mayfair Library in October. The librarian was wonderful with the students. He provided a tour of the library, read to us and showed us how to make butterfly hats. Hopefully, we will be able to return for another visit in the spring. The library has a large collection of early readers for first graders. We had a great time at the Halloween Fun Fair. My students were thrilled with the games and the prizes they won. Many thanks to all the volunteers who make the Fun Fair possible! In November, we went to see Ella Jenkins perform at the Old Town School of Music. She is an amazing talent who has performed all over the world. Our Thanksgiving Prayer Service was lovely. Thank you for your food donations! Report cards were sent home on Tuesday, November 24. We will be going to the Apollo Theater on Friday, December 18 to see a Nutty Nutcracker Christmas. Happy Holidays to all!
Ms. Weiland
