Welcome to Sr. Mary Emmeric's Page!
Happy New Year! Sunday, November 29th, rang in the new Church year beginning with the season of Advent. Therefore, in addition of our continuing study of the Epistles of St. Paul and James, we will be preparing our hearts for Jesus' coming. He came in history some 2000 years ago, but He also comes into our lives daily if we but recognize and welcome Him. Our Advent banks make us more aware of serving Jesus in our neighbor and of the Catholic Social Teaching on solidarity with the poor and vulnerable among us.
It has been an exciting and gratifying trimester for our Quiz Bowl teams as well as our 8th grade girls' math team. Three more first place trophies attest to their hard work and talent.
In math, the 8th grade students are solving multi-step equations which incorporate many previously taught skills and concepts. Geometric skills and concepts will also be revisited to refresh memories before high school entrance exams which are coming soon. For additional preparation, this would be a good time for students to join the other 8th grade mathletes who meet every Thursday from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.
In preparation for our study of rational numbers, the 7th graders are working on prime factorization of monomials as well as multiplying and dividing powers.
May each of us find the Spirit of Jesus in the midst of this busy season!

in Sr. Emmeric's classroom, from 7:15 until the school day begins.
Extra help is also available Tuesdays after school.
