Dear St. Edward School Families,
Happy Halloween! Thank you to all of the volunteers who made the Fun Fair a success this year. While we celebrate ghosts and goblins today, tomorrow is an even more important day for us. Tomorrow is the Feast of All Saints, a day we set apart to honor and remember all of the Saints of the Church who have gone before us setting an example of loving service to Jesus. The Saints are individuals like us with struggles who learned to put their faith and trust in God. We will celebrate Mass tomorrow at 8:15 AM. Please join us!
On Friday, All Souls Day, we remember our loved ones who have passed away and pray for their souls. In honor of All Souls Day, the school will be praying the Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory each morning in November. The prayer is below, and I encourage you to pray it with your family each day.
I would like to invite all school families to the 16th Annual Mayfair Community Salute to American Heroes this year. Our own Sister Shirley Stockus will be honored for her service to the education of children in the Mayfair area. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 1:30 PM at the Mayfair Veterans Memorial. Along with Sr. Shirley, veterans, first responders, and civic leaders will be honored.
Please contact the office with any questions.
Let’s have the faith to move mountains this year! St. Edward, pray for us!

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.
