Principal’s News – Nov. 14th

Dear St. Edward School Families,
Report cards will be sent home this Friday for the first trimester of the 2018-19 school year.  While it’s important to celebrate “good grades” on the report card, we should not lose sight that the report card is only one indicator of student growth and development.  As parents, we need to help our students focus on what is positive on that report card and work on strategies and incentives to motivate change and growth during the next trimester.  Most importantly, keep the lines of communication open with the teachers during the entire school year and not just at report card time.  Communicate with the teachers on what you see in terms of academic and social/emotional growth at home because it is going to correspond to the classroom and help the teachers make informed decisions that will promote growth in all areas.  And growth–academically, socially and emotionally, and in their faith life–is what we want to see for all of our students.
Thank you to the 6th grade parents for the $400 donation to the school from their Halloween party.  The donation will be used to fix the projector in Room 301.
Please contact the office with any questions.
Let’s have the faith to move mountains this year!  St. Edward, pray for us!
Mrs. Sara Lasica, Principal
