Dear Parents,
WELCOME back to St. Edward School! Afer a very humid and wet summer, we now get to look forward to the cooler days of fall and the beginning of school.
It was great seeing the smiling faces of our students both past and present. It is always exciting to see how much they have grown over the summer.
Hopefully, you have all had some time for rest and relaxation. Many people have told me that the summer went by so quickly and I have to agree.
We have three new members on our faculty this year, Kathryn Stirk is our Fifth grade teacher and also is teaching science in grades five and six. Sr. Adele Human will be teaching Spanish and doing social work. Helen Schaeffer is our new full-day preschool aide. We are happy that they joined our staff.
Our sympathy and prayers are extended to Jean Pitzen Family on her recent death. Mrs. Pitzen worked in our library and also her daughter, Laurie Gibson. The Gibson grandchildren graduated from St. Edward School.
The theme we have chosen for our school this year is: “Touch the World with Peace.” We will be looking at different ways that we can incorporate this theme into our Masses and daily school year.
Our school Masses will be celebrated on Wednesday morning this year. We hope that many of our parents will be able to join us. Your children will be planning and participating in the liturgies.
Our former fifth grade science teacher, Suzanne Brinkworth, got married September 17th and will become Suzanne Offman. We wish Suzanne the best of luck in her new married life. We’re very happy that she will be a library volunteer and substitute for us this coming school year.
Sincerely,
Sister Marie Michelle, OP – Principal
