Welcome to Kindergarten - Room 4 (Minim Building)

“And will you succeed?  Yes!  You will, indeed!  (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)  KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!” ~ Dr. Seuss

Hi, my name is Ms. Dina Migala (above right) and I’m one of the kindergarten teachers at St. Edward School.  I’ve been teaching at St. Edward for four years.  I’ve taught with Mrs. Pam Kay (above left) each of those years.

I graduated from DePaul University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Special Education.

So why kindergarten?

The aim of kindergarten is to provide a foundation for your child’s education and help stimulate a good self-concept by providing your child with many experiences of achievement.

The kindergarten program is designed to promote spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, and motor development.

Kindergarten students will:

  • Develop a positive self-image
  • Follow directions willingly
  • Develop responsibility
  • Increase self-reliance
  • Develop self-control
  • Display good manners
  • Enhance curiosity
  • Explore new concepts and ideas
  • Become both a leader and a follower
  • Share belongings as well as experiences
  • Respect others rights
  • Wait for turns
  • Participate as part of a group
