Ms. Caitlin Campbell

Hello from Room 304!

WOW! How quickly our first trimester has passed through! I cannot believe we are in the season of Advent and quickly approaching the Holiday Break. Here’s to wishing you and yours a safe and happy holiday season.

We have been so very busy up on the third floor! Our novel, The 21 Balloons, is completed. It was a wonderful fantasy story that allowed us to become newspaper journalists, history reporters and scientific inventors all for our final projects. They were really creative and well done. Next we are opening the wonderful world of poetry! With so many different elements of poetry, we will spend quite sometime in this literary wonderland. Wish us luck!

The close of the first trimester also brought the completion of our study on the Gospel of Luke and his orderly narrative of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will begin to work in our textbooks now and make our way into an in-depth look at the sacraments. For the month of November, we discussed the Lures Program and how to keep ourselves safe. We had some really wonderful class discussions.

The Wonderful World of Math

7th Grade: We have made it through the first 5 chapters with great success! There will be a continual review of these chapters as we progress through the year. After returning from Christmas Break we will incorporate Terranova Prep into our regular Math routine.

8th Grade: Chapter 1: check, Chapter 2: check, Chapter 3: check…

Phew, that was tough. The 8th grade math classes are progressing just great, especially considering we are starting to see more and more letters with less and less numbers. The pre-algebra skills that they learned last year are carrying them well into algebra. Placement tests, here we come!
